Talakadu Srinivasaiah Nagabharana commonly known as T. S. Nagabharana is an actor, director, film producer from South India. He was born in 1953 Bangalore, India and primarily known in the Kannada film industry. Besides, he is also the key player in parallel cinema. He is among someone who has acted in both the mainstream and parallel media at the same time. He has also gained popularity in small screen as he did in the film industry. Besides, he is also in screenwriting and theatres. He did his schooling from Bangalore, while he holds his degree in Law and Science. Since his college days, he has been involved in street plays and has been the director of his college time stage plays.
He has worked with many big names in plays and theatre world including B. V. Karanth, Girish Karnad, and Chandrashekhara Kambara. He founded his own theatre group called Benaka in which he was involved in a number of jobs like writing, management, composing, lighting, directing, editing, acting and even camera work. This has led him to bag a special award from the Government of India for his contribution in theatres. Besides, the plays and theatre work, he has been also involved in small screen and TV. He has worked for some TV serials for DD since it started. He has worked for many teleserials like Shasraphan, and he did a show called Stone Boy, which was an Indo-Mauritius venture.
Some of his other shows include Tenali Rama, shows in Bangalore Doordarshan, and a wide range on other TV channels like Sun TV, Udaya TV, and many more national networks. Some of his regional work on small screen include Mussanje, Tirugu Bana, Namma Nammalli, Sankranthi, Gelathi, and Aradhana. He has directed a number of films as well, which include Grahana, Bangarada Jinke, Anveshane, Praya Praya Praya, Banker Margayya, Prema Yuddha, and Aahuti, which remained his earlier work. Some of his recent work as an executive include Kamsaale Kaisaale, Vasundhara, and Allama.
As an actor, he has worked in a number of movies which include Adi Shankaracharya, Accident, Neela, Mr. Garagasa, Kirataka, Kamsaale Kaisaale, Vasundhara, Jai Lalitha, Uppina Kagada, and Allama. He has bagged a number of awards for many of his films and plays. In fact, he has a long list of awards, which he has bagged in his career in every award platform. Out of his 34 movies, he has managed to get awards for his 14 films that too from the top agencies. With his high profile, he has remained the part and parcel of many literary groups and organizations. His upcoming movie is KGF, which is all set to hit the screens this Christmas Eve.
